Laura Pollikoff-Kligerman Memorial Music Fund
Laura Pollikoff was a 1940 graduate of Music and Art where she pursued her love of music with her study of the bassoon and piano. She married Max Kligerman in 1947 and had two children, Andrew Kligerman and Diane Kligerman Schiff. She always loved music and taught piano to students from the late 1950s until the mid 1980s. She continued playing the piano for family, friends, and for her own enjoyment until her early 90s. She passed away on May 31, 2018 at the age of 95. She always mentioned to her family how proud she was to be an alumna of Music and Art High School.
The Laura Pollikoff-Kligerman Memorial Music Fund was established by her son, Andrew Kligerman, to honor her for her love of music and generosity to her children and grandchildren. The fund will be used to support LaGuardia students with financial need who wish to pursue summer music programs or private music lessons. The fund will also be used to help with instrument repair at LaGuardia High School.
