Nancy C. Seligsohn Artist Fund
For an art student who shows superior and evolving talent in illustration and/or painting.
This fund was established by Nancy’s brother Leo Seligsohn. Nancy Seligsohn, M&A Class of 1947, spent her career as a commercial and freelance artist. Among her many illustrations are ink drawings for Pippi Longstocking and Pippi Goes on Board. Her watercolors and oil paintings have been exhibited in many venues including the National Arts Club, Gramercy Park, NYC. In the 1950s Nancy worked at McCall’s Pattern Magazine as art director of the promotion department; also as assistant art director of McCalls Chemical Week Magazine.
She is listed in Who’s Who of American Women (1975-76 & 1977-78); Directory of Distinguished Americans (1983); and Foremost Women of the 20th Century (1987).
Nancy passed away on December 14, 2019 at age 90.
