Marlene (Marmer) Siff – M&A ‘53
Marlene’s work on paper, Negotiation, will be on view in a group exhibition, Every Picture Tells A Story, at Silvermine Galleries in New Caanan, CT through April 4th.
Additionally, her painting A Dozen Roses has been accepted into Passion, an online group show by the San Fernando Valley Arts and Cultural Center. The show will run from February 1st to March 31st on www.sfvacc.org.
Billy Dee Williams – M&A ‘55
Released his memoir “What Have We Here?” on February 13th.
“A film legend recalls his remarkable life of nearly eight decades—a heralded actor who’s played the roles he wanted, from Brian’s Song to Lando in the Star Wars universe—unchecked by the racism and typecasting so rife in the mostly all-white industry in which he triumphed.
Billy Dee Williams was born in Harlem in 1937 and grew up in a household of love and sophistication. As a young boy, he made his stage debut working with Lotte Lenya in an Ira Gershwin/Kurt Weill production where Williams ended up feeding Lenya her lines. He studied painting, first at the High School of Music and Art, with fellow student Diahann Carroll, and then at the National Academy of Fine Art, before setting out to pursue acting with Herbert Berghoff, Stella Adler, and Sidney Poitier.
His first film role was in The Last Angry Man , the great Paul Muni’s final film. It was Muni who gave Billy the advice that sent him soaring as an actor, “You can play any character you want to play no matter who you are, no matter the way you look or the color of your skin.” And Williams writes, ‘I wanted to be anyone I wanted to be.’”

The schedule of events and more information will follow at a later date. ... See MoreSee Less
Quite frankly I don't understand the cherry picked dates. You wanna create ill will. Congrats.
so what happened to the class of '76?
Thank you for this information Elinora! Now it’s in ink and we know the address so we faraway graduates can get a hotel room. Yay!!!
Why only until 1963?
Eli Mallon Are you being facetious?
I moved to Tennessee over a year ago. Kept hoping there would have been a reunion while I was still on Long Island. I doubt I’ll attend now, unless a list of my class members attending becomes available. 1962.
Why just those years?
So the class of 1964 is not included?
Where is it?
Was there one last year for class of 2013 that I missed? We’ve been connecting on our own, but it would be nice to have an official reunion at the school 🙁
if it ends in 1963 does that mean there is no reunuion for 1974? Gee i am confused...
I am a ‘62 graduate. Waited through the Covid freeze on our reunion while living on LI and would happily attended up through 2022. But in 2023, I moved here ( E Tennessee) and don’t think I’d make the trip alone ( I’ve been a Widower since 2008. Wouldn’t mind hearing from fellow alums here, however. Maybe some of us will be able to chat!
Moved to E Tennessee from NY in December of ‘22 . I would have gladly joined the few members of my class of ‘62 had I not. But, I don’t think I’ll travel ( I’m a Widower since 2008). But, I’d like to chat with any of my classmates who’d be willing to update our lives,
I waited patiently for another ‘62 reunion. But, in December of 2022, I moved to Tennessee from NY. Now I’d be happy to see comments from former classmates that might start chats. For those of them who did not know, Steve Carver, a Hollywood, Producer/Director/ Photographer friend , and baseball teammate, passed away during the COVID worst days. We were FB friends too.
Thx!
Thank you. I will be there. I want to see Chunga, Bill Charlapp, China, Tiffany, Mike Munves, Petros, Etc... you all(1884 grads) called me Curtis. Music major( piano & French horn).
I'm a 1999'er but I'll be coming b/c it'd be a privilege and an honor to walk amongst GREATS 💐❣️🙂!
The kids did an amazing job - totally student produced!
👍😃

I love this! For decades, all I had to say, was, I went to the “fame“ school, and everyone knew what school I meant! Now, in my time, the two schools were called “LaGuardia“ only on paper, till they finally were housed in one building. But it was still “LaGuardia“!
❤️
Yes!

Much Well Deserved. I was just watching it yesterday….
I could not find a lace to respond. Do you do Industry comps? I am an independent producer/ playwright for Emerging artists theater. I am always scouting new talent as I write for young people often. Are there discounts for Laguardia Alums? I was class of 1977 and my daughter was class of 2008.You can vet me at Bambieverson.com.
Is there a way to get these tickets without a service fee?
So excited! I did the song Pulled from this musical my Junior year in musical theater class ❤️😊

This sounds great, but it is so disappointing that the years prior to being at the new space and name are not allowed to have their reunions at the castle… 1984
Can we purchase at the door too?
Before the concert, check out the Student Curated Art Show, which is amazing!
Happy Halloween!! Nothing like LaGuardia on Halloween and reminding everyone that fame comes in all shapes and sizes! @tofu_themaltipoo ... See MoreSee Less
As a graphic artist since I graduated…. Why wouldn’t the names follow the lineup of actors?!
Nicole Mcmillan Bennett
I was today years old.
I had Mr Murphy’s math class with him. He used squeak in right at the late bell. Jim Murphy used to say his name for attendance roll… “ BOKEEEEM WOODBIIIHNE!” And he would respond “Bo!” With a raised fist ✊🏾! He had his hair in locs and wore a motorcycle jacket.
funny flick. kinda cool to see him in this role, quite different from the angry bad guy. I'm '88, so I don't recall him as a student.
So proud of my fellow alum of LaGuardia (Jose Miguel Fret - Class of '88)
