Melissa Spohler (Parent)


Melissa-SpohlerMelissa Spohler, Board member of Alumni & Friends of LaGuardia and Chair of the Development Committee, is the proud mother of college-aged triplets as well as a younger daughter. One of her triplets majored in Drama at LaGuardia High School. She has worked on various freelance production projects and most recently was a founding member of Shady Media Productions, an independent production company. Prior to this she worked at Fox News for ten years, where she was a four time Emmy Award nominated Producer.

Melissa is a passionate supporter of the arts, education, healthcare and New York City. She has endowed scholarships at the following academic institutions: The Bronx School for Excellence in the Bronx, Change for Kids – sponsoring The Landmark Elementary School in Brooklyn, the Trinity School in NYC, Northwestern University and Colgate University.

Melissa serves on the Parents Committee at Colgate University and is an active supporter of the Columbia University Center for Eating Disorders and Planned Parenthood. She previously served on the Board of The Anne Frank Center. Melissa graduated from The University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a degree in English Literature.
